Introducing in picture my R/T
Did the brakes recently as the pads where worn and disc where so so.
Only downpoint : burnt paint on the roof and trunk, leather seat dry with stitching ripping. Also the top of the leather on the rear seat is discolored to the sun.
Bought with 28390 miles for $3000.

Got a K&N drop in filter, and will do a transmission oil and filter change as soon as I have time.
Audio will be change at some point, even if everything still work fine, I like would a bit of recent system and more quality speakers

Here are picture of the window sticker.
I got lucky for sure. I was on the market for a used car, and i missed opportunity on differents make/model.
When the Intrepid pop on Craiglist, ads was 15 minuted old. I called the guy and make my purchase fast.
I was in the US under a J-1 visa, and I used to rent a 300M from the rental company at the resort I was working. I liked the handling of the car and the look. As the Intrepid are the same (for a few things), I am in known territory.
I really enjoy that car.

Doing some sound deadning in the trunk in prevision of the future audio system.
Also did the Big 3 upgrade.
Next step second battery in the trunk. I found very nice info on this forum to pass the positive cable through the firewall. (that's why I love forum better than FB group. A lot of usefull info.)
Already have an Optima in the battery spot, and the second will also be an Optima (I had 2 around that are not very old)

Bad news, my transmission failed. Sort of lucky, fail a miles from home and was able to crawl there.
Got the car towed to aamco. And bad news came today. Fluid is clear but lots of brass in it. So, I need a rebuild on it. Only 31130 miles. A bit disappointed, but that s life.

Major Suckage on the Transmission failure! What were the symptoms? Limp Mode?

Noise pump noise from the torque convecter. No limp mode at first, weird shifting first, then noise, and then limp mode. Sometime, nothing and back in limp mode.
In the end, all will be changed in the transmission as everything got contaminated / damaged due ti the brass particle and pieces.
So big bill ahead, but new transmission.

How much is that bill going to be?

I think the rebuild for my 2000 Intrepid was around $2300 and that was over 10 years ago.

That sucks.

Sometimes old cars with low miles are just as problematic as newer cars with high miles.

It may have 31K miles, but that transmission is still 17 going on 18 years old. Seals still dry up, clutch material weakens, and water contamination from condensation happens over time; especially the less they are driven.

That's a shame. Very nice car regardless. I'm soon going to be replacing a transmission in my RT due to some contamination...Just waiting for it to actually go before i do it.

More adventure, got the Trep back today.
Last week got overheating issues, and coolant spilling from the cap. And the more I poured coolant, the more got out.
Turn out my thermostat gave up. Also done a suspension job, but it seems the car sit higher now. At least, I feel the difference.
I hope it s the end of bad surprise.
For the moment it s low mileage but lots of expensive surprise. :S

So far no more problem, thank God. Ok beside shredding a sidewall on a curb to avoid an asshole driving in the middle of the road without carring.

I m not very active as I m very busy with work as one of my guy is on vacation. So I l filling gap in schedule.

Got the Intrepid some window tint yesterday. Ready for SoCal summer.
20% rear and back, 50% front, visor and sunroof 5%. Yeah, I tinted more the sunroof as I m bald and I want to enjoy the sunroof on vent positions without sunburn on my head (yes it has happen before).

I want to put a nice exhaust, but looks like it needs to be custom made. I ll see later, it s not a priority. I would like it respray and leather redone inside.
