I'm thinking about a 25 or 50 shot dry system that would have the nozzle in my intake tube. Ideas? Comments?

50 would be abotu the max on a "dry" system... as the computer can only compensate with the injectors up to about 300 hp. (you are at around 250 already).

The engine could probably handle a 75 or 100 shot with a wet kit, and if done properly (not in first gear, not through gearshifts), your transmission would probably be fine too.

I run a 100HP 'shot' of NOS on my car and it seems fine. Not running additional fuel through the intake probably helps cause the 3.3 plenum wont flow fuel very well i think.

A "wet" system injects both N2O and gas, while a "dry" system injects only N2O.

"Better" is a subjective term and which one is "better" will all depend on your budget, but more importantly how big of a shot you want and what (if any) other mods you have or will have.

As for cost, all depends on brand and what features you want.

I've had my eye on a Zex system, but I highly doubt I will be getting anything soon, if ever.

you haven't done any engine work to your car so stick to a 50 shot only wet or dry set up on you car.and also keep in mind...nitrous will void all your warrenties and most dealers won't work on a car with nitrous on it anyhow.

i use mine a couple times a week but am not button happy with it.

i suggest reading up on it alot before installing it.
the brand you want depends on your tastes....i went with edelbrok cause i have an american car and perfer the chrome bottle over a purple or blue one.

I know that it depends on how many shots you have and what type it is and all of the other mods on your trep, but what has been the cost of your systems that some of you have installed. Throw some prices out there. Tell me how much your system cost and how much it is to get it refilled. Thanks:wink:

cost was 400 bucks for edelbrok...
installed myself in about 4-5 hours...the price of nitrous gas varies from city to city but it is $2.90 per pound.(10lbs bottle)

and no it dosent matter what car you have for brands.

whats small ?
im getting a damn 100 shot
"Small" would be no more than a 50 shot.

If you use a 100 shot or higher, I don't want to read any posts about you bitching that you blew up your engine. We warned you.

That being said, good luck, have fun, and be smart with it.

Pet peeve of mine. NOS is a trademark that is owned by Holley who put a lot of their advertising into Fast and the Furious (not sure about the second one). NOS refers to their company which I think used to be called Nitrous Oxide Systems before they were bought out by Holley. No offense to anyone, it just bugs me that they got everyone thinking that NOS is a generic term for a nitrous setups when it was just Holley's genius marketer's with the movie F&theF and putting the term NOS all over that movie.

I still just refer to it as nitrous or NOx, since I don't refer to any generic carburator as a Holley. but thats just me...

Thinking about nitrous, I am curious something, can a first gen 3.5 with a good tranny (no problems) with a big tranny cooler handle a 25 or 50 dry shot? My wife thinks it would be really funny smoking stupid kids in their glow-in-the-dark coffee-can honda with her "new to her" luxury 4 door seden (94 LHS), but I am very very wary of putting any type of boost onto the car since the trannys are such a problem area.
