anyone ever replaced the OE battery cables on their car? i looked around for replacements and nobody in town even had a set in their catalogs. they told me it was a dealer-only item, so i went ahead and ordered them from the dealer. the dealer told me there's a fusable link and a sensor or something in a couple of the wires. is this BS? do i really need to drop $110 on mopar wires or can i get some brand-x cables from pepboys and still be ok? thanks

I don't know for fact but there probably is fusable links, the guys that subscribe the alldata can tell you. Just out of curiosity why do you have to replace you cables? I live in Wisconsin with all different climates and have never had to replace battery cables on a car.

i attempted to put new battery terminals on and in the process i tugged a bit i guess and the negative (ground) wire broke somewhere, so what's attached to the terminal is ends disconnected from everything else. either that or my alternator just happened to crap out as i was doing the battery terminals (yeah right).
