Ok, my roomate is looking into getting a new car. He mainly wants it just for getting around. He would like it to be under $15,000. He would prefer a sedan since he is a mountain biker. And, of course, he wants a very reliable car so he doesn't have to worry when he goes on those mountain biker trips.

So does anybody have any suggestions? I told him if he ends up getting a Civic that he need to rice it out. He's debating between Type-R and Type-S. :D

Thanks.

The Nissan Sentra is nice... for a few thousand more he can get the SE-R Spec-Z. 6 speed manual 180hp. Not a bad ride.

If he is a mountain biker, I would recommend a wagon... maybe the small Subaru wagon?

Or a Focus ZX3 hatchback, they are really good cars with interesting style.

Or if he wants a 4 door, he can get the ZX5 hatchback...

That's "spec V" ;). And yes, those are very nice. Fully loaded with leather, roof, spoiler, 17" alloys, and power everything for $18,000. I may look into getting one when the times comes for me to trade in.

Well the best bet would be the spec V. The subaru wagon is like 25k its not cheap trust me i was going to get a WRX Sedan.

But im going to hopefully be in the market for a car too. I decided on the TL-Type S.

If he wants a nice car then tell him to look into the new altimas. The 2.5 there not that quick but they are decent.

DONT GO WITH FORDSS ;) ;)

Why not go with Ford? The Focus is a very competant car. It won North American Auto Journalists Car of The Year award in its introductory year to North America, plus it is now the number one selling compact car in the world.

Not only that, but there is a slew of aftermarket providers for the car, it is roomy and very comfortable (even for a big guy like me) and for the money paid, you get a lot of content.

You also have a wide variety with the Focus: 3 door hatch back, 5 door hatch back, 5 door wagon and 4 door sedan, not to mention the SVT Focus which will be around $19,500.
