What do you guys think this ABS plastic hood scoop would look like on a trep? I can pick it up for $64...comes in a black finish ready to paint

I have a perfect idea for our Intrepids. Doesn't the new Subaru WXRTi look look a little like the Intrepids from the front. Well if anyone agrees with this, well then you will notice that little hood scoop that lays on the hood. Well, there is a company that makes those scoops ( universal fit ), but I don't remember the company. WAIT !!!
I think it is Erebuni.com, I think. If not I will research it. Anyways, that scoop should look cool on our Intrepids and also can be somewhat helpful to bringing in more cool air into the engine compartment which = more horsepower! :D :D

pimped...actually, if you can get the base to match the contours of the intrepid's hood i think that would look pretty sweet. the key is you have to make it functional, it can't just sit up there. cut a hole in the hood and have it vent in cold air, any reduction in temp in that bay will help you out.

First of all, I live in Southern Cali and rain is not really an issue over here. You can either put the scoop on and make it useful or not. I just bought a ricer car just to go to work to try to conserve the Intrepid. so if it rains, I'll store it that day!! With the scoop modified a little and painted correctly, I am telling you that it will look really nice ( RICER BURNER ). Even the guy at the Subaru dealer had the same idea and infact he mentioned the SLIGHT similarity of their car and my Intrepid.

I actually saw an eagle vision with that exact hood scoop and a touring wing like wutang's in Jamestown NY. Car looked too busy with all the aftermarket stuff. To bad I didn't have a camera, cause I did stop to take a look at it. But obviously do what U want,it's your car.

I think a scoop would look real good on our cars to an extent, everyone has their own opinion and taste about things. But I would consider a scoop if it was air functional/maybe ram air if computer was programmed(if possible)/ not to HUGE something slim but mean looking/ it would have to match my cars paint perfectly so it will look factory. I'm unsure about cuttin a hole in my hood though, I might get all that done and then not like it, then what? lol, big ass hole in my hood, I'll just say there was bad hail storm where I used to live. ;)

Who's to say that this scoop has to be useful gentlemen :p It is like putting on extremely large chrome muffler tips on your car; MIGHT look good but does not enhance performance at all. Do the same with the scoop. You would have to be creative though and maybe use some of that thin black wire mesh that some of these ricers use on their front spoilers and put it in the opening of the non-working scoop. Come on my brothers, work with me :D :D :D :D

i would love a hoodscoop on the trep,...but i dont know of that specific one mentioned before...that shaker-hood style stack scoop, prob look extremely out of place on the slanted nose of our cars...i dunno, again, i wouldnt knock it, different strokes for different folks...i could make a recomendation though...if anyone has the name of that canadian company that makes the aftermarket fender flares and body accessories, if i remember correctly they have a pair of non-functional plastic "scoops" that fit where the washer nozzles go on the hood, really good looking, under 100 bucks for both/. those would be cool, hell, when i scrounge up some money.........

Seeing how the scoop is only $64 and a can of paint if $3 why not just buy it, quickly spray paint it and see how it looks in place. Take some pics of the car with the scoop in place and then do what I recommend for people getting tattoos, hang up the pic in a place where you will see it everyday (fridge, computer monitor etc) and see if you get sick of it after a week or two, if you still like the scoop get it prepped, painted and mounted, if you don't like it you are only out $70.
