Why the hell can't my car peel out?! I have traction control turned off, I just put a K&N replacement filter in, I've only got 65k miles...but when I stomp on it, all that happens is that it bogs down until I hit about 3500 RPMs and then it takes off. Why the hell can't I get good throttle response at low RPMs?!

try doing a brake stand, I have a 99 ES. I just do a brake stand and I get a nice squeel out of them.

It has become customary to use periods between your thoughts. Sometimes we call these single thoughts a sentence. A period separates these things called sentences. You should try it sometime.

Congratulations on being able to peel out when your car and tires are cold. I'd rather have the ability to communicate beyond a first grade level, though.

JuniorTT, just because Wutang can `peel out` and you find it hard to do so, doesnt mean you have to get on Wutangs back about the writing style..

`Peeling out` all the time doesnt do your
CV (Ball Joints) any good... but hey, not my balls :)

Thanks for your opinion Si, but that's not why I was "getting on Wutangs back."

My trep doesn't peel out either. I do get a nice squeal when I brake torque but, don't do that on these weak transmissions to often. Wish they were built like a 727 torqueflite. I think that these engines produce the most power over 3000 rpm. It might be the way they are geared too. My other car is a 85 turbo laser and it is a tire smoking car. Dump the clutch at 5 grand and all you see is white smoke. I do love the smell and the sound too. Never got anything like that in my trep. Once on a right turn I smoked one tire. I like my trep anyway. Just remember you can't win a race by smoking your tires!!!!! Matt 97 3.5 ES

I don't think I'll be doing any brake torques anytime soon. I've heard fuel filter time and time again, so it might just have to get replaced if/when additives don't do anything.

That's too bad, TT. My '96 can peel out any time I wish. Don't have to do anything special, just stomp on the gas at anything below 10-15 mph, preferrably (spelling) at a stop. Doesn't matter to my car if it's cold or not, same with the tires. Good luck on finding a solution though.

Could be tires, when I was strapped for cash a while back I got some cheap sam's club- no name tires. I could smoke these things at will, and actually put a few decent shows on. :D

When I put my new wheels on, I got a set of T rated Cooper touring tires, and they simply stick to good to be able to peel out, unless im taking a turn.

Don't think this is how I spend my weekends either :D, I have done it 6 or 7 times tops, like Si said, its not exactly good for your front end...

about burnouts...i dont recommend doing this too much, but it works quite well (ruining tires). lock up the emergency brake and give it some gas. stop when white smoke starts filling the car.
(you can also pull 180 skid-turns this way, but, again, only do it on the holidays)
do at your own risk, and unless you like bright flashing lights, dont do it on the street.
