Hello everyone,

Yes I have a 2002 but I am considering buying a used '95 ES to commute. I noticed that even though the car was well cared-for by an old woman, the passenger side airbag cover has peeled back and is miscolored. Is this a common problem, and can it be fixed easily without replacing the whole airbag unit? thanks.

i would imagine that just the cover can be replaced. i'm not positive though. i'll look in my chilton's manual tomorrow, i left it in my car and i don't want to go get it.

It common for the passenger side air bag cover to warp from the heat of siting out in the sun. When my car was first bought, the same cover was warping too, I had it replaced, its due now or soon for another change. I know a couple of people with same problem.

Yeah my conners are comeing up but it doesn't bother me all that much. What does is around the message center. it has "seperated" from the heat.

I guess a dash cover can save your dash from sun damage, but then you have to look at that darned carpet thing all of the time you own the car so someone else can look at a nice dash when you sell it. Hmmmm I guess that's why I use a fold up foil thing in the windshield when I have to park it in the sun. Some people like the carpet look, it DOES cut down glare while driving, huh?
- Just looked at this post - it isn't a flame job, sorry if it looks that way! Just my $.02

yeah it does cut down glare bigtime. this one is not that shag carpet type that i have seen out there either, more of a velour/felt. either way it's a carpet for yer dash, and ya don't have to fuble with foil. i'd hate to throw it away since it's in perfect condition.
