The local perf parts shop has a 30% off sale on all the PIA bulbs. Got ahold of the Platinum fog light H3 bulbs, but when I asked for the high and low beam bulbs, he said that PIAA does not make the buld with the right connector? He said that PIAA has the standard 9005 and 9006's but not the bulb that is listed in the owners manual. He showed me the PIAA dealer book and it said that 2002's are not supported. I know a bunch of the guys have listed the PIAA bulbs as a mod, what did you do? 30% off is too good to pass up if available.
Thanks,
Darren

How much would they have came out to with the 30% off?

Mine are on the way... I bought a pair of 9006 and H3 bulbs. I am pretty sure these will work. Joekd has these, and from what I thought there werent any changes in the lights between the 2nd gen years.

The price worked out to $98.50 Canadian, before tax. In real money, U.S$ they work out to $54.50 for a pair. As far as price for the H3's, I paid $92.00 Canadian or about $50.00 U.S

I went to the PIAA web site, and they concurr with what the guy at the perf shop said, N/A. I may call PIAA and ask what is up? It appears that one has a 90 degree bend on the connector, and the other is straight back. In the manual it is not just an 9005 part number, it has a couple of letters behind this. This would make sense if there is not a lot of room behind the lamp assembly to fit a straight connector.

A friend of mine works for GE lighting in the States, I am droping him a mail and will see what they have, as apparently they are coming out with some high perf automotive bulbs..

You got a real good deal on those. I paid a little more for both. Both sets for me came out to $132 total. I got them off ebay but I actually ended up bidding for H4 bulbs instead of H3. What an ass! LOL

Thank god the seller was cool and let me swap the H4s for a set of H3s. =)

Thats what being an ebay plus a car newb gets ya. =)

Damm I paid a lot for mine. Thats wierd because other auctions for the PIAA H3 bulbs... closed at $50 and above. LOL Why would all these people bid that high if you can get them for like $30 LOL

Oh well no biggie... I know what to do next time I need them. ;)

Here's the picture Joekd took for me of his. he only changed the lows, so he has both bulb types there so you can see the difference:

The light on the left is the OEM high bulb. The one on the right is the new PIAA bulb. Notice the bend. That is the only difference.

Here's the link to where i have bought all my bulbs. The site doesn't look like much, but I have ordered from them a few times, and they do a great job :)

I just replaced my high and low beams with PIAA Super Whites over the weekend. The regular 9005 and 9006 bulbs work just fine. There is no modificatins needed. I must say that the improvement with the PIAA bulbs are amazing! I paid $69.95 per pair for mine. Maybe I should have done some shopping around, but oh well. :)
