i got a 99 intrepid ES w/ traction control.. it finally rained here in vegas a couple weeks ago so i thought i would have some fun and went out w/ a buddy and just roasted these front wheel bad boys up... i wanted to know if this thing had posi traction so i told my buddy to step outside and watch which tire/s spin and he told me they both did.. i spun them w/ trac. control off... i dont think this Front wheel drive boat has posi traction so im guessing its just the traction control kicking in? or am i wrong... any answers.. thx

if there is no traction whatsoever (rain on roads that never get rain), even an open differential will spin both tires off the get-go.

You have an open differential (no LSD or Posi option is available, yet)

You don't have posi traction.
You have an open differential. Which sends the torque to the wheel with the least amount of traction. If traction is equal, then they will both get torque.

And traction control doesn't make it posi traction either. It just tries to apply some braking power to the wheel with the least traction, the one that's spinning, this adds load to the one side and some torque will be sent to the opposite side.

Unless you FULLY understand an open differential it will be hard to understand how traction control works.
