Hi All !!!

It's me again...........pester, pester, pester !!!!!

Hope I don't wear out my welcome but I am a stickler for info before I do something I can't undooooo !!!!

This time it is pretty simple..........I think. I have two questions for the experienced people already onboard:

1) What kind of MPG can I expect ??? I will be taking delivery soon of my "BLACK BEAUTY" and I was wondering what I should be expecting so I can tell what may be good or bad and what to do to rectify the bad. Again, I have a '96 3.3L with automatic, pwr str, brakes, and A/C.

2) How do I post pic's of my TREP on this site ??? I am pretty excited and proud of it already and haven't even taken poss. of it yet !!!! I'd love to show it off and keep everyone up to date on any mods I might make. I can't afford the major upgrades that others have undertaken but might try some lighting effects. I also tend to like the stock appearance and just make sure it has the best vac, wash and wax on the block !!!!

oooopppsss........just thought of another q..........sorry........

3) I noticed that my TREP does not have a hood emblem. The hood was replaced due to the accident but I was unsure if a Standard Trep had one in '96 or not. AND.........I have a collapsible / folding mirror on the drivers side but not on the passenger side. Is this standard ??? I thought they should be folding on BOTH sides. What says the group ???

Thanks again folks. I REALLY appreciate everyone's willingness to listen and suggest. I can use all the help I can get.

My son is very good with cars but Dodge is new to him. He is really into the Olds Cutlas 442 plate but is more than willing to help me. I just need to know the proper plan of attack and also have the dollars saved up before we tear anything apart and then get caught with our pants around our ankles !!! Don't you know ???? I hate when that happens !!!!!!!

Hm I have almost 140k but others have a ton more, I've had my 96 3.3 for almost eight years now and no major problems just little things needing to be replaced .. the others may have more to say on that.. the hood emblem .. mine has one I've never seen one without one actually unless they debadged it.. posting pics you have a gallery to post thats all I know or you can post in the forum too and both of my mirrors are folding but I'm not sure if thats standard or not.. heh like I said before the others could probably help you more but I just wanted to add in my two cents!

1) I have a 95' 3.3 with 115,000+ miles, i get around 18-20mpg around the city and probably around 25-30+ highway, depends on if i feel like being a lead foot.

3) All 1st gen intrepids had a hood emblem either a Dodge Ram, or a Chrysler symbol in canada. Mine doesn't have one because i took it off. Also, there should be folding mirrors on both sides, not just one side.. That's weird :sarcasm:

Good luck on getting your trep!!! You'll love it!

Thanks for your info. I guess when the hood was replaced the shop did not replace the emblem. I will have to ask them if the badge is still in their possession.

Also, when you took yours off.......was it a stick on.....or did it have prongs that went thru the metal and then were attached with nuts or clips ???

It might also be that the accident that bent the hood also damaged the mirror and then they only paid for an aftermarket mirror and not the standard folding one to save money.

Thanks again.........I can't wait to get it. Have to make storage arrangements till I can find a spot to park it out front. My neighbor is hogging up an extra spot and won't move. His car is snowed in right now. So either I have to dig it out or call the cops. I prefer to help him dig out if he'd move it. Don't want to complain to the cops if not necessary.

I have a 95 3.5L, We get about 25-27 MPG City driving, which Is excellent, I must say. The hood emblem is nothing more than a sticky. You can acquire another one for cheap on Ebay, a dealership, Autozone, etc etc. Very easy to acquire. And for the mirrors.... they are both supposed to fold in... not just one.

Hi FireSpirit:

Thanks for the feedback on the emblem---I am thinking now of maybe a novel way to attach it when I find a new one.

I have some very strong magnets that I now use on my oil filters to trap ferrous material in the bottom of the filter. At each oil change, I move the magnet to the bottom of the new filter.

I think I will attach a metal plate to the back of the emblem, then attach the emblem to the hood with a magnet on the back side. Then I can remove it when I want to look smooth and clean and attach it when I want to advertise and brag !!!

Yes, I now think my TREP must have had a minor mirror accident in the past and the folding, original equip was replaced with a cheaper. fixed aftermarket. I think I will just bide my time and wait for better financial conds before I replace the current model.

I also wanted to ask........how did you pick you tag ??? The ES is easy to fig out......but the FIRESPIRIT is a wonder.

Thanks for your info and input.

I HAD a 1995 3.3 intrepid with 180,000 miles on it-origional everything -tranny and all. Tranny was a little weak the last few years(no drive or reverse when it was cold in the winter, let it warm up for a bit and it worked fine-lasted like this for three years). The emblem is in fact just a stick on as are the fender ones-may have just fallen off, mine did. My 95 had origional fixed mirrors. oddly enough the front fenders on the car were plastic-every other intrepid I've seen had steel.
