As a general rule I've seen more pump failures than racks. A pump from a junkyard might be reasonably inexpensive to replace.

Yes, it can but, I wouldn't think it would stay on the shaft very long if it did. It is a "Pressed-On" fit or, interference fit.THank you, and last qustion. Could pulley become loose on the pump shaft?
