a few weeks ago i started to knowtice that the push pins were not the right ones holding the facia in place. So i took the trep to the bodyshop. I explained that to him and he said they were right and he would not fix it. (there is a 1 year warrenty on all work) What should have been put in were plastic rivits. I had photo proof and a rivit in hand when i went up today. He quickly said he would change them. So after i kept telling him the facia kept poping out of place and that it maybe warping, he shouted at me that he would not replace it. His excuse was that "it was not a stock bumper"! I showed him other ES pics and he explained that i choose a diffrent style bumper that was "aftermarket". We dropped that subject and went back to why it was not holding on right. A fellow worker of his came over to see what was going on. He knew why it was not holding up. It seems when "I" paid for the ES facia, "they" never ordered the filler (the styrofoam stuff behind the facia)! I told him I was not going to pay for it and we shouted for about 25 minutes untill he got fed up with it and gave in. He is extremly pissed at me because they never installed a 65 dollar part! His fellow worker said this should fix the problem because they will not replace the facia, which i do believe needs to be.

so my question is, do you think im right as the consumer or is he right for being a complete asshole?

I think you are right.. they should have purchased the correct part to put in before installing. it is shitty work on their part.

But I also believe that you should have reminded them to do that in the first place... you would have avoided all this trouble....

If you bought the fascia through him, then he should have done his homework and checked to see what else was missing or different before he gave you a quote to install it. He probably new the minute he tried to put it on but did it anyway.

I had my front fascia replaced and it had the popping out problem, too. The dealer fixed it by re-mounting it - apparently two of the clips or fasteners or whatever they used had come loose.

Are the SE and ES foam pieces different?

The guy should definitely have done his homework and researched what all was involved in a fascia replacement.

BTW - part of my foam reinforcement was damaged so I don't have the whole thing in there and it works just fine.

Fight for what you feel is right.

Some businesses do enough damage to consumers, so I think you were reasonable.

My fiance took her car to (formerly BP) Procare, and now it has a couple cigarette burns on the side of the seat. Bastards! I've fought with the manager, with little success. I'm glad you got them to do *something* about it.
