Would I be able to pick one of them up WITHOUT sunroof control and use my existing switches for it? and then just order a bezel from the dealer? I was looking at this picture here Dons OTIX, and it seems I would be able to use one of them computers from the junkyard, use my existing switches and just get a new bezel. what about wiring harness?

someone correct me if I am wrong on my thinking here.

The one I got had no switches for the sunroof, but on the reverside of that bezel is the outline to cut to accomidate the switches. All you need is to drill a little hole in the bezel and follow the outline with a good "cooping" saw.

Take it slow and it will work fine. The bezel would be a lot of bucks probably.

the bezel would probably be a few bucks yes..and I may not need one.

but since I am finding all kinds of consoles but yet none with sunroof control...and i started looking at some and noticed the notch for em.

i just use my Dremel and cut one out..

now the next question is...

Wiring. would I need a new harness? or use what i have and run another harness down for the computer?

Sorry Thrasher ,been away for a few days. Yes if you find one with no hole for the roof switch ,you can just cut it out like GR8WHT says and use your switch that you have in your car.You use the same harness you have now you just need to run the wires fron the new OTIS unit to the same place that your harness you have now goes ( to the fuse panel area). So you need the wires from the donor car. Put the OTIS wires into the empty cavities on your plug that is in the car now. The hardest thing you will have to do is cut the hole. If you can get the headliner area with the hole in it from the donor car cut around the hole and use this as a template. then you cant screw anything up. Hope this makes sense to you.

W00H00! i called one of the yards where i found the console, I told them I just need the computer and the harness since the bezel won't fit no matter what I do (has the whole kit-n-kaboodle w/garage door opener and such and with sunroof it wont fit). price for computer and harness, "..oh anywhere between 25-50 bux.." i'll have to order the bezel, which is fine, this way it will match my car and i wont have to cut on nothing other than liner.

price for new bezel w/o electronics: $160.00 WS and $220.00 retail

At least you guys can find these in auto recyclers in your areas. The only thing I have around here are junk yards with the emphasis on junk. The people I've been dealing with are like "what's that?" when I ask about the console. (sigh).

yeah if you find one from a first gen LH car it will work in your 96. The install is the same for both generations of cars.

not if you have a 'non'-ES 1st gen. I don't have the Right body control computer for the damn thing. :( I want it bad too.
