Actually,

There is some interesting difference between the R/T and a 300m special. For a good comparison, go to Dodge home page and do the comparison once you load the Intrepid.


The interesting diffences are in HP, length and curb weight. All could be a factor in a race.

I've heard that the R/T is SLIGHTY faster. But, it would still be a drivers' race. The 300M has a few more horses, but it also weighs a little more.

The 300M Special has even more horses (255) than the base 300M, but the Special weighs about 100 pounds more.

Car and Driver gave the nod to the R/T when it compared it, performance-wise, to the 300M. I think it was the weight that killed the extra few HP that the 300M had but the difference was something like .1 of a second in the 1/4 mile.
