For all of you who have a system in their 'trep, whenever my bass hits that freakin piece of cardboard/carpet that holds the 3rd brake light rattles to beat hell. Anyone fix that or does everyone just let it sound like crap?

the only problem I ever had with that was when one of the lights burned out and swelled so it would not come down out of the housing. In the process of jamming my finger around in there I moronically poked the red lens off and let me tell you that rattled like a mo fo, since I hadn't fixed it for a while. I took it apart and fixed it and it doesn't really rattle much anymore, but I would be willing to put money on that it is probably the red lens since they seem to by generally loosely set in there and it was really easy to accidentally poke it out. maybe if you could stick some double sided thick tape to keep the lens in place? or something to that effect.

I have the same rattle, seems to be a cheap plastic moving around, take out the rear dash and strengthen things up, dynomat the rear cardboard tray, I took a piece of foam and stuffed it good between my glass and where the 3rd brake light meets the glass, because my rear windshield flexes so much. I hope it doesnt crack...lol!

HAHA, yeah the way I crank mine up, **** comes loose left and right, I can barely hear it but its still there ya know. That little rattle that you hear just barely, annoys me when I'm not trying to pound the subs and listen to something alittle less bassy. I had my intrepid dynomaxed all around, headliner, hood, trunk, doors. Very solid sound to it now. Changed the whole sound of it from the outside too, not loud at all.

Everyone recommended dynomat to me, but it is expensive stuff! So I used old shirts, pants, and socks and my 3rd brake light, and rear deck does not rattle at all now! Works great, and I was gonna just throw the old clothes out!
