I've been messing with my headlamps for about a year now and I still can't get them to align worth a damn. At this point, I'm probably going to have to replace them. Anybody have any good experiences with aftermarket lamps? I'm definitely wanting ones that I can install HID in, but they need to be easy to aim. The one's I have now actually have screws located in areas that you need to remove the lamp to adjust them!

The one's I have now are halo with three LED's on the outside ends. Sharp looking, that is when the LED's that make the halos work. These led's only lasted about 6 months before malfunctioning, and of course the maker doesn't sell replacement ones... I had to get creative with the dremel and other leds...

Any help here would be great. I don't want to invest in another pair of lamps that are simply crap.

Only ones that seem to have adjustments like OEM headlights are the ones that are copies of OEM headlights. No projectors..no LEDs, etc. The Depot brand has been good to me.

I think I still have the OEM ones from my crunched 2002 R/T in storage. I put the original "Black Diamond" headlights in it shortly after I bought it and put them in storage. Should be in very good shape. I'll look for them if you're interested.

It took me a while to get my halo's lined up reasonably well.

What helped me a lot is when I realized that up/down, left/right, were more angled. If you turned the adjustment for up/down, it went reasonably well in the desired direction, but left/right went at angles. Once I figured that out I realized that I could compensate for that by turning each screw a little at a time until I coaxed the beam to where I wanted it.

Thanks everybody! I guess I'll just play with it for a while longer. I really hate to quit with all the work I've done to them. I didn't get the aftermarket HID's, I actually used HID lamps and ballast from a wrecked charger. I had to modify the lamp to accept the HID bulbs and with it being a projector lamp it just takes a lot more fine tuning than if I had used an aftemarket bulb that was designed to go in the 9005 housing.

Hopefully other members will see this post and figure out that it's better to get the HID's that are designed to go into the lamps housing rather than try to do an extensive mod to get the same effect. I'll get it...eventually.
