After searching the web site I found my problem with over heating. The reservoir cap gasket is cracked and chipped.

I have searched the web for an hour and can't seem to find a replacement coolant reservoir cap. I have found the replacement reservoir and cap but not the cap alone.

I own a 1997 Dodge Intrepid 3.5L.

Does anyone have a vendor or part number?

Went to Advance Auto, plugged in car and found part.

Maybe I have been looking for the wrong thing. I have been asking and looking for the plastic factory looking one with the writing on top. I didn't even think that those genaric caps are the replacements. I guess thats what I have to start looking for, something a little different.

Will go shopping tomorrow.

The genetic ones you speak of are the right ones... The just don't look as pretty. Fit is the same.

may try your luck at a pull yard as well, usually a good amount of LHS cars at many of em

I would think that finding a factory cap in ah yard that is in usable shape will be slim.

Iv had ah Stant cap on mine for a few years now with no issues.

yes it is i've been trying to find one myself...including an oil dipstick and the tube that it goes in and still no luck
