I have a '99 Intrepid. I know that it is possible to have codes from the computer display in the odometer without having to hook up a scanner. Does anyone know the secret, stand on your left foot, pat your head and rub your belly trick to be able to retreive the codes from the computer this way?

On the older style you could turn the ignition off-on-off-on-off-on to retrieve the codes. Not starting it but just going from off to run. I think it was just three times but it may have been 2 or 4. Codes would flashg the check engine light in a sequence. Don't know if second gen's are the same or not.

With the engine off, hold down the odometer reset button, and turn the key to on. Enjoy the show.

Go to the second gen formums and look up getting computer codes. I posted the instructions there along with a section on recalibrating your A/C and vent system. If you need help finding it let me know.
