56K warning.

I first drove to Minnesota, then headed to Yellowstone from there.
South Dakota and Wyoming are absolutely beautiful. While driving the second day (from MN, through SD, to WY) it was so hot and humid that day, I drove with not only all the windows down, but my shirt off. I now have a burnt chest with a pale stripe going diagonally, the seat belt.

I left Ohio for the trip Monday, and got back last night, 3750 miles round trip.

Wednesday, I get to Yellowstone, got a week pass and went through the gates. I am rather disappointed at the sights. About the same amount of dead/dying trees are there are living and healthy trees. It was a pitiful sight. Clear the forest of all life, let it burn, and it will regenerate much better than it is now.

I have a video of the old faithful geyser erupting, not as exciting as many people make it out to be. If I wanted to see water shoot 70 feet in the air, I'd either use a garden hose, or drink a lot of Coke and aim up.

Saw a few buffalo, few elk, cattle roaming the fields/streets of Wyoming (outside the park), and squirrels. The squirrels, they freely go into the park buildings and lodges. The employees leave small plates of dry food for the squirrels, they have been around humans so often that they will walk up to you and eat out of your hand.

Petrified tree...****, I could have just popped some Cialis and have a petrified tree right there in the hotel room...

The park was rather a disappointment as I said earlier, but the landscape on the way to and from there are amazing.

The stormy skies, the pictures were taken when I was at the outer edges of it (Dayton, WY.) 1" layer of hail on the ground, rained so heavily, everyone was going between 45 and 50 on the highway (S.T. - R.T. 14) A few hours later, I pull into a gas station and I was talking with the attendant. She noted that Dayton was about to have to ugly storms collide above the city and it was going to be a very ugly mess.

Friday, I'm at the outer edges of the Rockies. 11% incline for about 5 miles, the 2.7 has serious balls. It took the incline doing over 30 in third gear, didn't use much gas, thermostat never went near the half way mark. Big surprises in small packages. Later that day, I get pulled over in a small town. $98 ticket, 42 in a 30. I was looking at the GPS unit looking at how much longer I have until the next road when I passed him. I didn't bother telling him I was looking at the unit, or there could have been wreckless operation as well.
Later that day, on the highway (I-90) I get pulled over. Highway humper thought I was on drugs or something, humidity was making me weak. I explained to him the basics of 2005, he asked if I wanted an ambulance because of the labored and delayed breathing. I told him it's nothing new. He explained that it's protocol that he has to search the car for drugs for what he pulled me over for. I gave him the key, he searched, found nothing because there was no drugs. He gives me a written warning then let me go.

If I could, I would move out west. In the Rockies, it was much easier for me to breathe, and a little easier for me to get winded.

Got home last night, I knew I was in Ohio when I smelled the farmers using spreaders to spread pig and cow ****.

This was a long overdue vacation, 4 years overdue to be in fact.
The driving alone helped me clear my mind, I came back feeling great.

$25 for a 7-day pass at the park.
A thousand, maybe more in hotel and gas combined.

I'm sure it would be less for you, I believe Washington is a hair closer. :p
Yeah but with my lead foot, and driving style, The gas would be insane! I know it costed me 640 I think to get from Washington to Alaska, and another 500 something to get back. did that in a week LOL good 5k miles. Only runs about day and a half to get up there. (depending on your right foot)
