Despite all the stories of how 2.7L 'Treps are bound to die by 80k miles I just traded mine away on a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS.

I'm really sad to see her go... and didn't get anything near what I thought she was worth despite the problems she took with her.

At the end, 'Trep left me with 114k miles, 4 bad struts, (at least one) blown head gasket, no air conditioning, a cracked windshield, and many cosmetic flaws.

She was a good car for me and if Dodge still made them I'd probably buy another one. Over 114k miles and I did very little work on her other than regular maintence. The dealer I bought my Mitsu from was shocked how many factory parts survived that many miles but I guess I got lucky with mine.

Anyway... I guess this is my retirement from this forum. I've loved owning my Intrepid, it's one of the best looking cars I've seen from the last 20 years, was great while I owned it. I've taken more photos of her in the dealership lot than I have of any other vehicle I've traded.

Now I've bought my first import car and feel guilty about it but Dodge is sticking with the 300x series and IMO those are ugly as hell. Without a million mile bumper-to-bumper I have no interest in driving any of that series.

Thanks for everything guys!

Guess a lifetime powertrain warranty doesn't count?

Good luck with the Lancer GTS! That's a hell of a looker!!! Wish I owned one instead of the Civic sometimes.

Hope you have better luck with the Mitsu than you did with the Intrepid. You shouldn't have had head gasket and AC problems at such low mileage. If either of my 2 'Treps had problems as serious so soon in life, I wouldn't be as lenient as you and call them good cars and say I'd buy another one.
