I have a 97 trep with stock wheels and basic 225/60/16 tires. my rims are 16x7's. will these same tires fit on a set of 16x8's? I'm a working dad w/ 2 teenage daughters, so i can't go crazy on tires and wheels. thought you guys could answer this. sorry if my search missed the answer.

Watch out for curbs.
Those wheels are 7" wide, and the last year was 2001 ES
Stupid eBay.
Most 225/60 sidewall tires say 6" minimum to 8" maximum
The widest OEM installation of a 225/60 is 7.5, on 300C. Though that was done so the skinny tires can be replaced with 235/55 or 245/55s easily

 Thx for that. Means I can't let my wife OR daughters drive it without a fresh coat of curb repellent on the bumpers. BTW i parked beside a trep with these exact rims today. great to see them in person. Think they'll look good. got stock rims with crappy hubcaps now. all the center caps are missing, which is a good thing since they were generic, but had a blue oval in the center cap that looked like a Ford oval.
