Selling My R/t Wheels And Tires

I will be upgrading the tires and wheels on my 2000 R/T to 18 x 8 with 245/45zr-18's in the very near future. I will be selling the old tires and wheels as a set. They only have about 10,000 miles on them and are in good shape. Will accept any REASONABLE
offer. I am placing this ad now to see what kind of response I get.

Cehasgr: Have you considered selling your R/T wheels individually? I would LOVE to have a full size spare, but don't want to buy one new from the dealer. I have local junkyard dealer looking for tires from a wrecked R/T, but doubt he will find one anytime soon.

If three other guys are looking for full size spares, please chime in.

I would actually be interested.... I can save my black rims and goodyears for when i am feeling frisky and put on the normal wheels for everyday driving.

Well I know sets of fairly new 300M wheels and tires were running in the $700-800 range. I dont know if this was a fair price or what. And that was for the silver alluminum... not the chrome.

On second thought, I might keep one as a spare too. Would that cause a problem if I had three 18 inch wheels and one 17 inch wheel on the car at one time. It does not seem like it would cause a problem since it would only be on the car for a short time anyway until I got the tire fixed. The overall wheel and tire size is almost the same with either the 17 or 18 inch wheel.
I will probably break up the set afterall, anyone else out there want a full size spare besides me. I will let you all know when I get the new wheels and tire installed.

Should not do any harm if it's only for a short period of time. Remember, a lot of cars do not come with full size spares...

Wheel diameter is no big deal -- problem is tire diameter -- make sure tire diameter is within 1/2".

If you have a spare with a significantly different tire diameter than the other tires, treat your transaxle RIGHT and make sure you only use the spare on the rear of the car.

(If a front tire goes flat, move that rear tire to the front and put the spare on the rear only.)

cehasgr: From your post in the Performance/Mods section I figured that the overall diameter of the new wheels + new tires would be the same as your old wheels + tires. I don't see how there would be any problem with keeping one of your old wheels as a spare since the overall diameter of both sets should be the same (minus tire wear on the old set of course.)

I will probably be getting the tires and wheels installed around Dec 10. After that we can decide on who gets the three stock wheels and tires (I am keeping one for a spare). Thrasher, You can have one. That leaves two for others to purchase. I just set up one of those PAY PAL accounts to handle payment. Still not sure what is a reasonable price to ask for the wheels and tires. Someone please give me some ideas.
Will post some pix once I get the Wheels, etc and my rear spoiler installed (got that from the spoilerfactory.com).

18x8 could they rub the inside of the wheel area when you turn?

This has been asked many many many many times. Its not the wheel size that matters its the overall diameter of the tire. Just if your running 18 your run a smaller profile tire on that larger rim.

There will not be a clearance problem since the overall wheel and tire size is not changing. I have decided to sell EACH tire/wheel pair for $200. I just saw that DODGE is charging $385 for their fullsized spares. Mine are in very good shape with only 10000 miles on them. THRASHER and JIGSAW MAN want one, so that leaves one available for purchase. We can do payment through the PAY PAL system (www.paypal.com),
just log into their site and set up your free account (just the standard account, since the other two accounts are not free).
This is the easiest way to send money to anyone, and no POST OFFICE to worry about.
