Ya know what...I love the black ones. When I got mine, I had to special order it, which makes it even that much more special to me, but I'm glad that other people can own one now too. Damn they look sharp...very very nice car...

I just want your leather interior...:)

Hey Voo,
Yeah, me too with the special order, and a one month wait. Could have got one from a nearby dealer lot with everything, including the sun roof, but I didn't want the sun roof. Not that I couldn't afford it, I just plain & simply think the car looks better without one.

Only change made from the factory is the chromed valve stem caps on the tires. Just can't improve on perfection...

Actually, I've also added very nice, clear license plate covers/frames, of which are illegal here in Minnesota, but "they" don't give ya much crap about it, unless "they're" having a chat with you about something else to begin with...

Nicest license plate covers I've ever come across, and look absolutely beautiful on the R/T. Not gaudy at all. Interestingly enough, the factory is right down the road from me, here in Minnesota, where they're illegal to use. Go figure... The "Autocross" goes on the back, and the "Model Turismo" goes on the front.

Check 'em out here: http://www.altecproducts.com/products_platecovers.htm

In addition, I just picked up a nice class 1 trailer hitch with the removable carrier assembly that will be going on in a week or two so that I can pull the Hog on the Kendon "dualie" trailer. It looked great behind the '98 black Stratus I just sold. Should look absolutely tits-up behind the Intrepid!

Check it out here: http://www.kendontrailers.com

I'll be priming and painting the hitch before I take it back and have it installed. One thing I could never figure out is why people don't have trailer hitches painted before installing them. Just look at any vehicle with a trailer hitch that's been on for any longer than 5 months and what do you see? A big friggin' mess of rust hangin' off the rear end is what you see! A simple step of using a little sandpaper and a little Rust-Oleum primer and paint before installing goes a long, long way...

When I got my 2000 R/T, there was no such thing as BLACK. The only color you could get that resemmbled it was the slate. I ordered Slate originally, then went back to the dealer and asked if the factory could paint it black even though it wasn't an option at the time. They went for it, and shortly after I got mine, black became a standard color. Pissed me off, but it's good to have others with the same bad-assed looking treps...

Black was first offered about 3 months after they first started making the R/T. Dodge kinda forgot to tell dealers about it (including mine), so many didn't realize you could get them in black. I actually walked away from my dealer because he said it wasn't possible. He called me two days later saying that he ordered two, and one was for me if I still wanted it.

Voo,
Yes, the gloss black is darn pretty, when it's clean!

My old '98 Stratus had the "Slate Gray" paint. I really liked it, for it really looked like gloss black, yet had a little gray in there that really helped hide swirl marks and light dust.

I had hoped Slate Gray was available for the '02 R/T, and was a little disappointed when I learned it wasn't. Still went with the black though. In my eyes, this is the only color for vehicles...

As such, I chose to start that finish off right. After much research, I decided on the McGuire's 3 part clean/polish/wax system. As well, using the McGuire's car wash detergent, a good wash mitt, and a California Squeegee at wash time. It's all working great, and with consistent TLC she should look great for years to come...

Yeah, Mad, that sounds about right. I sold my Z28 and the day I gave it up, I went "car shopping" and saw they made an R/T. Had no intention of buying it, but took it for a ride cause I never heard of it (the first in North Dakota), and fell in love with it, and order it a couple days later, after 5 MORE test drives

HeHe...Then I get it, and they tell me Black is now an option...those asses...

Same here, I wanted a Dakota R/T and then found out that they made an Intrepid R/T, the salesman tried to talk me out of taking a test drive in the Intrepid, but I did and fell in love...4 test drives and 2 years later, here I am :)
