I will miss the cab foward design too... of course, with the cab forward design, they can't get a v8 in there. Can't have both I guess. I like the cab foward design because it reminds me of the lambourghinis and ferraris even though they are totally different cars doesn't hurt to dream. I really hope that the 3rd gen looks as good, if not better than, the second gen.
Coporate Average Fuel Economy, right now Chrysler is on the edge, only because the PT Cruiser is rated as a truck can Chrysler make the standards now. Ford and GM cheat but having the Excursion and Suburban( Tahoe) weigh just enough to be exempt. Chrysler does not have a huge suv to do that.
I think its around 27mpg right now.
No way are you going to tell me these new V8 powered RWD cars are going to get better milage than the current V6's
With modern production methods, anything is possible. It will be hard for Chrysler to meet CAFE standards, but I think they can do it...if the Germans let them.
Is that why VW and Subaru use small engines with Turbochargers? You get the best of both worlds with turbocharges. Good power, but good MPG. But, turbocharges are just un-American. V8s baby!!!!!!!
Don't a lot of Mercedes use V8s? They must have a way of meeting CAFE. Hell, I saw a Mercedes with a V12!!!
You would think that since Chrysler and Benz are one company, the technology would get shared. At least that is what is supposed to happen......
