When i changed out my 6x9's there were 2 wires into a little black clip (for each speaker). I just cut off the clip and through trial and error found which wires were + and -. It was quite simple in my '94...

I will tell you what I did. Bought a new deck and ran all new wire, but what you can do is 2 of the four wires run the tweeter. If you can get a hold of wiring diagrams they will let you know which. These you can tape with electrical tape and use the other two. Those are from the premium sound that some have. There were actually three levels of stereo speaker setups for the car. Sorry I do not remember which wires are for which. I may be able to look it up on the computer program at work. If anyone has access to alldata, theyy could let youu know.

This would work; however, the sound would not be nearly as good if you have the factory deck because it is setup for an amp and if bypassed sounds a little tinny. You could stick an amp in an fix that though.

Can't do that if you have the Infinity Sound System

And its not a matter of just grabbing a wire and attaching it to any other wire, you have to find out which one is positive, also I think if you don't have the infinity sound, (or if someone else put different speakers in) your going to need to remove the back seat and the panels and drop down the rear deck then unscrew the factory ones, and install the new ones from below, thats how I did it, much easier if your speakers blow or you like to change them each time a new model comes out (me :D ) I'll find out the exact color codes for you if you would like...

hey somebody said something about pputting the rear seats down. yours isnt able to just pull down is it;intrepid rear seats are immovable right? anyways if there is a way to unscrew them and let them move down i wouldnt mind trying that, cus i want to put my amp on the back of the seats but there isnt a lot of room and its harder than hell to get back there and do anything. thanks
