hmm, mine is governed at 120, mabe its only 118, but whatever it is Ive had the car up there when she cuts out, sucks that mine is in kms so I have to convert over.

My 99ES would hit 120MPH then the speed restrictor would kick in and jerk you back. 120MPH felt really smooth, not even like you are going that fast. My 02' SE 2.7L hits 110MPH before the speed restrictor kicks in. The 02' feels really smooth too.

Oh my,

The fact that sold me on the intrepid. rented out 1996 intrepid es in 96 and ran it up to Biose ID from Omaha, NE. Went across Wyoming with it floored. 120mph 38 mpg! She was idling at about 2k the entire time and clearly had lots more room to go.
In 97 I rented a brand new 1997 ES and ran out to Reno NV from Omaha. I was let down though once I hit the Wyoming border per the car topped out at 110 and gas milage dropped to around 32mpg.

I have since owned a 96 ES and now an 98 ES. Neither of which I have floored to check top ends in. Guess it has to do with I own them. :D

Heard that new Intrepid R/T's and SXT's though are capped at 140. May have to rent of of these and go see. :cool:

Around 150 mph racing a 5.0 Mustang wide open for over 2 miles on the HWY. The speedo was about 3 inches past the 120 mph mark coming up the other side. Rock stable at that speed.

140mph @ 4000rpm (Approximately) in a 94 3.5L

how exactly were you going 120mph with it only at 2000 rpms? when I have my cruise on, I am at exactly 2000rpms at 60mph, and at 86mph(where the cruise shuts off) I'm around 2800-3000(not sure exactly)...I just cant see how the rpm's would be so low at 120mph...
