I am having a weird problem with my speedometer and I havent seen anyone mention it in the forums yet.

The needle on my speedometer gets stuck...

What I mean is, between 0-20 mph the needle move very smoothly as it should, but after that the needle will be stuck for a bout 5-10 mph and suddenly jump to where it should be, only to get stuck and later jump again.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what is causing this and if there is any thing that I can do on my own to correct this.

TIA
Joe

Hey there, sorry to hear about that......

I'd first test the instrument cluster.

Hold down your tripometer pushstick button thing and at the same time switch your ignition to the on position.

Watch your instrument cluster go through a series of tests. This is how the dealer would normally perform an instrument cluster test.

I have once heard from a Chrysler dealer that engine misfiring sometimes causes interference with the speedometer but I'm not sure how true that is. Just was I heard.
