I just got done detailing the whole Intrepid yesterday and today. I cleaned the whole underbody to get the winter salt off. i also waxed it and cleaned the engine bay. I know, I have alot of time on my hands. I watch the news yesterday night and see that Chicago is expecting rain until next Friday. Looks like the Trep is staying put for now lol. What have you guys done?

I just took my trep trough the car wash tonight. It's suppose to rain so I didn't want to go and spend a couple hours detailing it just to get it all mudded up again. Besides the stupid stray cats would just walk over it with their muddy paws.

yeah, I regret washing mine yesterday. Oh well, I can keep it in the garage for a few days until it dries up. Until then I will use the Impala.

I washed mine a couple days ago, just went through the touchless wash but I'm really itching to give it a good scrubbing myself. We've had rain the past few days and will probably have it through next week.

Well, I just went on and di dthe full detail on mine about a week ago. Will save me alot of time when I go to clean it up again even after raining and whatever else mother nature wants to throw at it. Here was my process

Wash with Adams Car Wash

Hubbies/Tires/Wheel Wells Cleaned with 50/50 Water/Simple Green

Clayed with megs. claybar and detail spray

clayed glass with megs claybar and detail spray ( seperate clay for this step)

Polished with SSR2.5 with PC and White LC Pad @ Speed 4-6

Refined with SSR1 and LC finishing Pad @ Speed 3-5

PwC with PC and LC white pad @ speeds 1-2

EX-P x 2 with PC and LC finishing pad @ speeds 1-2

Tires/Interior dressed with VRT and Wells dressed with OTC Dressing

Hubbies sealed with PB's WS x 2

Glass polished with 4 * UPC and with PC, LC white pad and @ speeds 5-6

Glass Sealed with 4 * UPP applied with PC and finishing pad @ speeds 1-2

Sorry, no pictures at the moment but maybe later on today I will be able to get some. My girlfriend has my camera and I'm seriously thinking of buying another one just for reasons like this...

Acronyms Used:

SSR2.5 = Poor Boys Super Swirl Removal with more cutting power than SSR1

SSR1 = Poor Boys Supper Swirl Remover with light cutting power. When you use it as I did with a finishing pad on a PC ( PC = Porter Cable Polisher) it acts as a glaze with no cutting power because of the finishing pad not having any cutting abilities it gives the vehicle a nice deep wet look. Which I love!

PwC = Polish with Carnuba. I added this step because it gives just a slit darker look when applied correctly and also adds more protection in conjustion with the sealant.

EX-P = Poor Boys Sealant. More than one version of Sealant so look it up :smilie_wo

VRT = Vinyl, Rubber, and Tire Dressing. Adams Polishes sell this brand and can be purchased only @ www.adamspolishes.com - I highly recommend if you love that matte/swead look and want to spend a little, get A LOT, and have it go a LONG way. I got the 1/2 Gallon and don't see this not lasting less than 2 years for just me alone.

LC = Lake Country Pads. I have a set of these and also a set of Edge 2000 Double Sided Pads.

PB's WS = Poor Boys Wheel Sealant. Can't complain about making life easier when you go to wash next time and only have to use some light mist sprays of detail spray and a MF towel to wipe away. Nice beeding action I've seen with this product even on brake dust.

4 * UPC = Four Start Ultimate Paint Cleaner. I love this stuff. If you have a vehicle that has metalic in it, which my dones, this product combined with the Sealant makes that thing POP like crazy. I use it on my paint sometimes depending on the look I'm after at the moment. I also use it on my glass like I did this time and it using the same product line for polishes then sealants usually work best in most cases with it comes to results/long lifetime.

4 * UPP = Four Start Ultimate Paint Protectant. Man I love this stuff. Like I said because when used in conjunction with UPC and UPP applied x 3. This makes your paint just pop out at you. I also use it on my glass and you think RainX is good? HAHAHA! Windshield wipers, what are those things? Seriously, haven't ever used mine except for winter time. THAT'S IT! Nothing cooler than driving on the Interstate doing 70 with no windshield wipers needed. Like I said, I will try and get another camera today and post some pics. I would like to use it for alot of things for this website. We'll see. I'm gonna go shopping around online first though. Enjoy!

I love to detail. I'm not too the point where I've jumped on the rotary but I'm happy with the results I get from the PC. Car looks awesome! Wish I had my charger wheels so I when I take my pic they would be in the shot! Soon enough though, and I will have them.

Damn, you went all out. I bet it looks like it just came off the lot.

Just now noticed you said "the lot"! Well, I get what you mean, I appreciate it, and it does look good. I wouldn't let the dealership detail my car for NOTHING! Most dealerships use bad products, procedures and what not. Did I forget to mention the high powered sprayers they use? Ya right, not on my car!

Wow Dodgaholic, they look awesome. The engine, paint, wheels look brand new. Then again you don't have to deal with salt down there. I just got done washing the whole suspension and undercarriage on thursday to get all the salt off and then dried it with compressed air. It has been sitting in the garage for the past two days. All that hard work, I am not getting it wet in the rain.

Yeah that high pressure gun that they use will take any wax off that is on the car. Not good.

It's the best. I don't like shiny trim, dash or tires. I just want a nice dark black, and I want it to last a while. VRT does all that, and is so easy to apply. I get the half gallon too. BTW, the code "spring" is worth 15% off right now, so load up!
Have you used the undercarriage spray? Makes the wheel wells as black as VRT does the tires. You'll get a free 60z with orders right now. I need to get one of their clay bars and #1 & 2 chrome polish and try it out.

Hey, good deal. Haven't ordered from him in a while but now that I got a code might as well right? :icon_conf I agree, I don't like the shiny look most dressings produce and besides most of that stuff you have to let dry on before you drive or it slings the crap all over your freshly detailed car. Very easy to apply, I have like 15 of those sponges he sells and no I haven't tried the undercarriage stuff. Let me know if you try the #1 and #2 chrome polishes out. Thanks for the code!

Nope no salt here, thank god. Sun can do a number on yout clearcoat if you don't stay on top of it though. Turns white, then flakes off. Gotta keep it waxed.

No problem. I get emails with codes from them. Yeah I love how VRT is dry right away, and the tires look BLACK. I got a six pack of the sponge blocks too. Work great, and no lint. You'll get to try the undecarriage for free, like I said, if you order pretty soon. The videos on the site are pretty cool to, for a beginner to learn from.
