Just completed a rebuild from heads up on a 94 Intrepid ES 3.5l. Car turns over and runs fine except when I'm steering hard to either side and changing gears(either from drive to reverse or vice versa) the motor stalls. With the steering still to one side or the other the engine starts hard almost like a low battery, but if steering is straightened engine starts fine and wiil not stall when changing gears. When doing rebuild, I put new battery, cables, starter, and ignition switch in vehicle. Didn't have this problem before work done. Is it possible that I adjusted belt for power steering too tight?

Your idle could possibly be a little low, and thus when you put the engine under load with the vehicle at rest, it stalls.
