Ok i thought i like to get this off on a good start with a great bunch of owners here. The 96 i just bought the p/o has a jumper wire wired from the starter to when you turn on the key to the on you hit the wire to the positive side of the battery terminal. Is this a sign of a bad ignition switch?I put the car in neutral and it wont turn over, nothing.I also have the car in park but the indicator on the dash shows it still in reverse but when you put it in reverse it still illuminates and when you put it into drive it will go into drive and low gears as well.I need some input here so any and all info is greatly appreciated.

thanks

I know this thread is old but i had to update it, i found out what the problem was,the p/o cut the wire that leads to the starter and put a jumper wire to it, i then took that stupid jumper wireoff and then soldered them together use heat shrink tube and then the mechanic said the ignition module was shot so it was replaced and all is good now.
thanks
