Last summer I replaced my A/C compressor. Trying to save $400 I did it myself. I “sealed” off the vacuum lines with some paper towel and put everything together. It worked great.

Lately I have had problems with the AC not being cold and producing very nasty smells. It smells heavily of gas or oil. I don’t know what’s wrong and I can’t figure it out. Last summer when I ran the AC I didn’t have these problems.

I have no Engine codes and no ATC codes. What can I do?! Will a dealer be able to figure out what is wrong with my car?

u might be low on freon and your getting the left over freon gas smell into the car. there could be a leak on the hoses. they can put a leak tester on the system and see whats going on
