from my understanding they have to splice into the tach feeder so the computer knows when to stop cranking (like when the engine fires and the tach comes alive).
it can use various ways to determine a start, voltage flucuation, vacum, and tach, i like the tack idea the best but dunno where to go and find it, lol
Try grabbing a Haynes manual and it might have it in the electrical schematics section. I love my Haynes book!!! But a Chilton book might be better, because that book has EVERYTHING. But its a little harder to understand for do-it-yourselfers.
