The 2nd gen (1998-present) SE, ES, and R/T (Motorsports edition) have a governor which limits the top speed to around 120mph. The R/T doesn't have a governor and the top speed is 150mph. Of course, it depends on the weather conditions (temp, winds, humidity, etc), but about 140 mph is a good estimate.

I'd be very interested in what various sources/magazines say about 0-60, 1/4 mile times, and other performance numbers for the R/T.

Thanks for all that info. That is pretty impressive detective work. :)

Weight (2002 model year)

R/T: 3526 lbs
300M: 3581 lbs
300M Special: 3650 lbs

I do believe that the R/T has no governor (although I heard that the Motorsports editions do). I have only been able to get mine up to about 100-115mph because I can't seem to find a decent stretch of road. Eveytime I try I either come up on a hill, another car, the pavement turning into dirt, or I saw something that didn't make me feel comfortable so I hit the brakes. This spring I will try again! :)

Your car is not going to go 150... where are you getting that from?.. I have seen 139 posted in magazine articles
That 139 is drag limited. So, given the right atmospheric conditions and such, the car could potentially go 150mph.

Yeah if you run it in on the f*ckin moon or something... or maybe you could run it in circles in a hurricane that might work... or maybe if you go up to the top of a mountain.....

I am talking about today on a highway on this planet ...
Very low humidity, low pressure, decent temp (not too cold nor too hot), tail wind, etc.....all happens on this planet.
