Transmission lockup

I have my eye on an 02 Special with 120K miles, but the ad claims that it has a bad transmission. I called the guy, who turned out to be a dealer, and he said that it is "stuck in park". I've done the search and have seen the previous threads on this subject, so I know that it could be the ignition interlock or something to do with the shifter bezel. Those threads are all years old, so I thought I would post here and see if anyone had any more recent or more complete information about a trans locked in park.

Or a seized/binding cable from the shifter to transmission.

The 02+ cables are supposed to be sealed to prevent them from having seizures -- LOL!

I'll look in the FSM tonight to see what I can learn. I'm going to try to go see it tomorrow.

The only cable I have had seize up like that was my '02 Special. All the Intrepids seem to have been fine.
