I have had my 96 Intrepid for about a year now. It was purchased used, former car a 96 Neon, and I have only really had one problem with the car. Whenever it is raining or wet out and I open the trunk lid, all of the water on the trunk lid pours directly into the trunk. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it a design flaw? I can't carry any paper or water sensitive items in the trunk because they get soaked if I open the trunk while it is wet. Any solutions?

there's a rubber lip that's supposed to prevent that from happening. the water slides off the trunk and then straight into the trough that the lip creates and flows to the side of the car.

Ive ahd that same problem, and i also have a system. I still havent gotten around to it since im selling my car. But what you can do is get some sealent and try to see where the water excalty falls from then seal it there i guess        :D

from what I know, that is a problem with just about every single car ever made. heh especially camaro's , they never did learn that it pours it all straight in... my trunk does the same thing, I'm not sure exactly on where it pours exactly, but I know it is a hassle when it rains, I don't care THAT much but it's still stupid.

Mine has a rubber lip too, that directs the water into the troughs at the side of the trunk. Never had much water in the trunk...Opened it in heavy rain and only got a few sprinkles from thr sky in the trunk...Maybe it was something they fixed when they made the 97's???
