Trying to find the right oil filler cap for a 2.7L 6 cylinder 2002 Dodge Intrepid SE

Hello,

I got my 02 intrepid second hand and it came with a universal fit oil filler cap and after an oil change the mechanic told me I'm losing oil because my cap doesn't lock into place and can easily move up and down even when screwed down

All of the parts stores in my area only seem to sell these universal fit caps and online I'm struggling to find a OEM or at least "OEM-fit" cap for a 2.7L engine.

Are the oil caps interchangeable or do I have to find one specifically for my 2.7L engine?

Either way please send links to a properly fitting cap if you have them (OEM preferred)

Thanks!

Junk yard might be best bet if you can find. Pretty sure all year LH 2.7 use the same cap. Other platforms (such as LX) used the 2.7 - not sure if oil cap is the same for all.

Probably these on Rock Auto are the same poor fit aftermarket as you already have - I think that's a MotoRad/Dorman logo on them.

EDIT: Forgot the link: 2002 DODGE INTREPID 2.7L V6 Oil Filler Cap | RockAuto

Look in junk yard.

The oil cap for the 2.7 is a weird one with a tight fit. It doesn't really lock on that well but it does the job. There is a notch and I line it up and give it a hit with my hand to get it to seat. Then turn it closed.
