Even though I hate the UCF cops due to their wonderful track record for traffic enforcement, they do have 2 intrepids, so I finally saw one while I had my camera, and here are some pictures....which one do you think i should make my new avatar?

Cool. Dorchester County Sheriff's dept. in South Carolina just got 3 or 4 Treps last month. Two of them live around the block from me I will try to get a couple pics.

P.S. I would use the 1st on as your Avater.

yea, it took me forever to get a pic of my home county (Pinellas) intrepid cars, and they were from the inside of my trep, with my friend trying to take pics over me, thats where my old avatar came from

man i hate ucf cops-- I go to UCF and I've been boxed into a handicapped spot in the only dry spot under a covered garage while I waited there for less than 30 seconds at 10 pm at night during hurricane-force winds, rain, and flooding to pick up a girl from an adjacent building. $140 ticket. He saw the girl running towards my car to get in, but that didn't matter-- he was a douche bag.

All they ever do is write speeding tickets and bust people for underage drinking and misdemeanor possession.

I like their new squad cars though :)

Same with Pinellas Sheriff's too-- they look sharp. I'm from Largo.

ask anyone who goes to UCF-- it's a little excessive. I'm a proponent of law enforcement; I just turned in my application to the Collier County Sheriff's Office to be a patrol deputy. We have 42,000 students and probably every single one of them has been stopped by UCF cops at least once. Examples for 'reasons' include "running" yellow lights, touching lane divider lines with one tire, driving less than 3 mph over the speed limit (20 mph).

Here we go, they will pull you over for veering into the bike lane on a right turn, when you have to CROSS it, changing lanes on curves, stopping after the stop bar, or actually accelerating from the line...if you drive here at night, you might as well be ready for a field sobriety test, because if you see a cop at night, and you are drunk or sober, in their mind's you are drunk
edit: and in 5 months of being here, i have been pulled over twice, hazards of living on campus and having to drive on campus at night...one time was for red washer nozzle lights, and the second was for stopping after a stop bar, which i got a ticket for at 5:00 on a sunday afternoon

My friend said that he took his 'running a yellow light' case to court. The cop who pulled him over showed up, and the Winter Park judge didn't even let him get a word in edgewise. She lectured the officer for ten minutes about how sick she was of getting these petty cases coming in her courtroom when she had far more important things to deal with in her jurisdiction. She reportedly told the officer that he had better tell his superiors to "shape up" because she was getting sick of the UCF cops always bringing in this "trash."

good, they need that, everyone is sick of UCF cops taking their jobs way too far, and they wonder why people ask them if they are real cops

Yeah, campus police around here have been known to do that. Once the cop came up to the driver who was parked at the side of a very quite university road at 10PM and said "Are you going to move this thing, or am I going to have to give you a ticket?", just as the person being picked up was getting into the passenger seat. What a ****ing knob.

Also, last year, they (campus police) brutally beat up a guy, who was drunk, in claim of "Self Defense". The cops felt so threatned by this drunk guy, that they continued to beat him with their "night sticks" and kick him in the head, once he was turtled on the ground.

Funny, I thought campus police were supposed to make you feel safer at night.

BTW, wanna piss them off, call them "Campus Meter-maids" like my friends and I do

everyone always asks them if they are actually police, or when they get pulled over, they ask "what do we do now, wait for the real police to get here" we have our own meter maids, they are called "Parking Services" though, so that doesnt really work...lol

Seeing as we don't consider them real police, we just drive away when they come up behind us and try to pull us over. Unless we're on campus property, there's really nothing that they can do.

thats the only time they pull people over is on campus and on campus affiliated housing, but i think they have jurisdiction on the roads bordering campus

Over here, it's only one road that they have jurisdiction on and you can't easially speed on that road.

Regardless, those ****ing knobs took too hours to respond to a building being broken into on university campus. And, the building was less then a 1km drive down the road (0.625mi). That means, either they're dumb, lazy, or travelled towards the building at a whopping 0.5km/h (0.3125mph).

Mind you, if somebody parks on campus property for 5 min, with someone in the drivers seat, and the car running, and waiting for someone, and they're about 10km away, you can count on campus "meter-maids" to be there RIGHT AWAY.

My campous police is awsome. Just last year they got radar guns. I was going around 75 in a 25 zone and one flew out from behind a sign and turned on his yellow lights. I never stopped and finally he gave up and turned around. Since they are "Rent-a-cops" they do not have the right to pull you over, but they do have the right to give you a speeding ticket if you were speeding on privite property. LOL. Must have been 5 miles or so before he gave up. I feel real sorry for the poor students that do not know that you have to pull over for them when they turn one there yellows.

haha...they are basically campus "security" but thats kind of funny, our meter maids have yellow lightbars and strobes on their trucks and cars, but our worst vehicle is the "service officers" that investigate minor accidents, they get to drive ford windstars...haha

Last night I got pulled by campus police up here at William and Mary. One of my headlights was out, so I guess that's enough reason to pull me over. He had a Trep. It should be a rule that they can't pull over fellow Intrepid drivers.

Speaking of campus police and writing tickets. I haven't been back to my college in a year and a half and I got a bill the other day from the school saying that I owe them $20 for a parking ticket from a couple months ago. I was like WTF? I haven't even been there in over a year!!!
