Just happened to run across used Jaguars lately. All were 10 - 15 years old good shape and fairly cheap considering their luxury status. I have checked local Kijiji and craig's list same story, not even close to the value of Mercedes or BMW etc. Why such poor resale value?

Jag's were cheapened some time back. Not what they used to be. They almost went under IIRC.

That was the years when Jag was in serious financial trouble just before Ford bought them out. Jags from that era are nice looking but mechanical nightmares. They are known to break a lot and are very expensive to fix when they do. Parts are also very difficult to find and mechanics with extensive knowledge of older British cars are becoming more and more scarce.
