I was thinking of getting some vent shades for my windows. I'm still not sure if I totally like them or not. If I get them they will be like the ones that 98Intrepid has. I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with wind noise or keeping them on. Any input would be of great help.. Also what do you think they would look like on my car?

My g/f has ventshades on her Grand Am...the day she washes her own car will be the day hell freezes over. She only takes it through car washes and she's never had a problem. But I wouldn't recommend it....

My car has only seen a brushless wash like twice, so that shouldn't be too big of a problem. Randy.. how much did yours set ya back?

Do they make those rear window shade vent like thing? I don't know what you would call them, but you find them on Mustangs, Camaro's, some luxury cars. Not stock, but aftermarket. Well my first question is, does anyone know waht I'm talking about? ;) Second, is do they make those for Intrepids?

That's messed up....I know this doesn't belong in this thread, but I just ordered black out headlight covers, is there a way I could black out the taillights also? And is it legal to have head light blackouts?

I have Ventshades, paid about $50 at JC Whitney. I only hand wash so carwashes are no problem. I put mine on the day I got the car, so I don't know if there is more wind noise. BUT - I don't notice any wind noise so it must not be a problem. If you look at the R/T photo section you may be able to see mine on the car.

I E-Mailed GTStyling about the ventguards and the icon, here is the E-Mail I was sent back...

Thank you for your interest in our products.
You are correct. We don't make Ventgards for the Intrepid, but we did
specially make them one time for our show vehicle. We may come out with
them in the future for that particular vehicle, but at this time we don't
make them.
Sorry about that. :(

She's lying!!! She knows teenagers don't like Intrepid's (except me) cause they're family cars and you can't go cruising for girls in a car with 3 baby seat anchors and a quiet engine. I'm still outraged! They shouldn't show something they don't sell...

I honestly don't think that headlight covers could be illegal in any state during the day.
Otherwise, any car that has the headlighs that pop-up would technically be breaking the law when they are closed.
Ya know Randy, there's always an exception to the rule, and its usually one of Iowa's lame-ass laws...

I dont remember exactly what it said, but it was something like "anything that restricts the light output of the headlights/tail lights or turn signals can not be used on state highways" Dont know why they said on highways, so technically they'd be legal in town. The reason cars w/ flip up headlights would be more legal than blackouts is their turn signals aren't covered like they would be w/ blackouts.

but with all that said, it hasn't stopped me from driving around all the time w/ my blackouts on (i even drive in town at night with them on cauz I'm too lazy to take them off, but with the light from my foglights and streetlights i can see fine). And its also not going to stop me from tinting my taillights, or tinting my front windows(which is also illegal in Iowa)
