i have a 2000 300m, 405,000km (~250,000 miles), was getting a misfire code on cylinder #5, hence the p0305 code.
i swapped out the coil pack and spark plug w/another cylinder but p0305 misfire code on cylinder #5 didnt change.
so either fuel, compression or vacuum leak could be the culprit.
using water then propane i confirmed i had an upper intake plenum gasket failure.

thanks. this car is my first car ever reaching that many miles without spending a wad of cash to keep it going.
engine is basically all original other than timing belt/water pump change done at about 120k miles.
i wish now i had taken care of the rust areas just didnt think the car(engine or tranny) would of lasted this long w/out big money to repair it.
fyi, i never changed the tranny oil, i shouldve but wont start now as that might cause it to fail. its still red in color, mostly highway miles
