Just a quicky, I had to set up a VPN for an Auto Parts
franchise here in MI, They wanted me to use NT 4 for the
server (Ickky poo) and they had win2k clients.

The question is, when the client VPN is set to detect
what protocol is it should use, when its set to automatic
what order does it try, i.e PPTP, IPSEC ?

I ended up having to force all clients to PPTP due to
a certificate error, I am thinking it tries IPSEC first.

There is no real urgency at all for an answer, I am just curious..

I have not yet delved into the world of vpn, or supporting vpn.
But why in god's name would they want an nt 4? server? :)

I could always look it up though :) No information is bad information :) (But it does matter how you heed the information that comes upon you :) )

Gentelmen, the point, you dont use NT!:)

Alot of corps still use nt4, reason been,
why change when its all working the
way it should do with our legacy hardware?

If they want Exchange etc, they get another
box and a license to run 2k...

Saying that, since RH 8 I have set up a box
which clients can check out over VNC, I have
had requests from 2 offices for a complete
converstion to linux workstations... People
are not tolerating or can afford the licenses
to run thier companies the way they wish..

Greed will eventually diminish MS`s market
share I feel.

Ooops I went off topic:) Sowy!:)
