Anyone have an estimate on how much it will cost to replace the water pump on a 2000 model vehicle?

How much work is involved?

2000 Dodge Intrepid 2.7.
It really isn't a hard repair, the 3.2/3.5 is much easier, a Haynes or Chiltons manual and some basic mechanical aptitude is all that is needed. There are more than likely many videos on YouTube that show the whole job step by step. As far as cost of having someone else do it I am going to guess $400 to $600 depending on which parts have to be replaced, doing it yourself $100 up also depending on what needs to be replaced. Might I suggest selling the car onto someone who can do the work if you don't feel comfortable doing so and find a good ES with a 3.2, there really isn't an appreciable price difference between the two, and you get so much more car as well as being more reliable.
