the majority of us here with subs have either 10's or 12's ... i know that by the pure definition of subwoofer a 6x9 could technically fit the definition, but 2 6x9's simply don't compare to the bass levels produced by 2 12" subs

PS-I agree, 8" subs are truely sad, id be happy to compare the bass of a factory Infinity sound system to my 2 10" and 1 12" sub
