this hose on my car is worn out and has some holes in it which i've repaired with tape. what is it, how do i replace it, can i just replace the hose or the do i have to replace the whole thing ?

I can't be too sure, but it almost looks like the hose for your pcv valve. You can replace that hose quite easily. I don't think it's very expensive at all. That is, if it is what it appears to be.

no, that's not the pcv hose (unless there's two of them), the pvc hose is alot wider, goes from the rocker arm cover (i think) to the plenum, it bends around this hose. i changed that one last year.

yep fuel pressure regulator hose, the other one from the back of the plenum to the valve covers is a vaccum hose or pcv hose.
