I've got an '01 R/T that I just changed the spark plugs and ignition coils at 108k.. Some guy backed up into my car and I just noticed this weird crack or maybe its just rust on some cylindrical object to the left of the engine block..

I notice a kind of knocking noise from the front when going over bumps at low speeds, sounds normal at higher speeds. I just changed out the shocks and strut assemblies so now I'm just trying to figure out which bearings or the such might need to be changed now. I want to stay on top of everything like I've been doing since I had the car cause it's special to me.

I just want to know if this knocking sound can be corrected or if its that metal cylinder thing about to break and the car is just a lost cause?

Thanks again for the read and the help mopar guys, much obliged.

Thanks, can i like just clean it or do I need a new one?
Leave it alone, that "crack" is just the weld joint where they joined the heat shield---deteriorated a bit by rust. Nothing to be concerned about really.
