i recently purchased a 1997 dodge intrepid se 3.5L with 77k. I wanted to know what mods i should do first to to free up some ponies but not harm the engine. And maybe some way to make my transmission last longer.

Well, seeing that it was 17 years ago we may never know. But Chances are good the car is now some magical unicorn.
