I know any year tranny will go into my 1994 Eagle vision, with the 3.5L

What cars do these come out of?

Intrepid?
Concord?

also, the only diff in the 1st gen and 2nd gen trannies is two bolt holes, and a connector to a sensor?

someone please help

Any transmission in any LH (Intrepid, Concord, Vision, LHS, New Yorker, and 300M) 1993-2004 will fit but like you said the 1998-2004 does require some modifacation. The second gen. transmissions in the 2.7 cars and the 300M Special have diferent final drive gearing.

ha ha nice, she drive slow already, i hate riding wither her somtimes

while i have peoples attention, the car has other issues as well. please excuse me if this is a common problem.

for some reason, the heat is always on, blowing full blast through the defrost position. It has the automatic stuff in it, with the thermostat and everything.

Also the radio display dosent light up at all.

Sometimes they work, but rarely. Its not that big a deal cuz its winter, but its getting warmer now.

So i'm thinking bad ground? I dunno how the heat works, as i am a GM man. is it purely electric, or vacume?

Thanks again

Ya it is electric not vac. like GM does it. Does the radio work just the display doesn't light up? If so then is is inside the head unit I would just get an aftermarket HU. I am not keen on the automatic HVAC controls but I am sure somebody will chime in.

What electronics do I need with the new tranny when I get one. getting a rebuilt one is way too much money. Wiring Harness? TCM? (transmission control module)

If you are getting a direct replacement for a 1994 then all you will need nothing eletronic. Just use what is already there. Unless something is wrong with it. I would get a new mount while you are in there though.

How about the 98 and newer trannies? half her family are mechanics, and grandpa has a shop in the barn, so i figure we can upgrade to the more reliable one.

I havent been able to find any older trannies with less than 60k mi on them

bah, now im pissed. Women piss me off. I had a tranny from a 1998 trepid w/1k miles on it or less for about $400, with a lifetime parts and labor warranty. the gf's dumb mom is pissed at my gf for some reason, and theyre not talking, so we couldnt get in touch with her to tell her we have a new tranny.

mom gave some shop the go-ahead to replace the tranny for $1200.

damn women :gun6:

oh well, her tax return is gonna be big, so it should cover it.

thanks for all the help, im sure I'll be back foir more of it

Personaly I would not get a trany for a 2.7 car or a 300M Special cause like I said earlyer they have a lower final drive gear. It will be good in performance but you will loose gas milage.
FWIW, the mileage isn't that much worse. I can still turn a solid 23mpg on the highway, and 18 around town.

Dang. I'm about to put one in and I do a LOT of highway driving. The difference between 23 & 27mpg seems like a fair bit...maybe I'm just picky. I SUPPOSE I could start driving the speed limit if I really need to save gas :)

I'm about to start puttin one in (2001) tomorrow. Hey Terminator, would you be able to tell me where I could find one of those aftermarket modules? Or even the name and part#? I think the tranny I'm usin came out of a 2.7L vehicle...

You can take it to a dealership where they'll use a scan tool to correct the ratio so your speedo will read correctly.
I have 3.89 gears in my car, and had it done; seems to be correct (according to driving 60mph next to my fathers truck) :p

I have the same powertrain as the 300M Special (it's my best mod by far!) and I drove it gently at 60-65MPH from Abilene to Fort Worth and got 30MPG!

5 gallons of fuel from Abilene to Fort Worth.... outstanding! This was verified by the EVIC and the gas pump.... nice!

I accelerated gently and used Autostick to keep it in OD at all times.

But enough of that..... I'm back to my old bad lead foot habits again! I get about 25-26MPG on average.
