I was just looking through the member pictures and I came along this one in liqtenexp's pictures and was just wondering what the hell it was? Not only that, but where the hell did he get his car from because in mine the gas gauge is on the right side of the speedo...???

I'm all confused....

the instrument cluster is a 1st gen, hence the arrangement and the lack of electronic display. also that addon gauge looks like an ammeter.

I don't think they offered digital odometers in the first gens.

Grant beat me to it.

Yep, definitely a first gen instrument cluster. The device could be an air/fuel mixture gauge. The stoichiometric air/fuel ratio is 14.7:1. I don't think an ammeter would be reading that low. It could also be a temperature gauge. There are weird stickers where the traction control button normally is.

the more i think about it the more i think it has something to do with a massive stereo system.

Ok for all you who are wondering, LHSer guessed right it is a Digital Voltmeter. I use it to monitor for proper voltage when operating my system and for making sure the alternator is operating well.

I still have not completed the system since I am at school right now. One main thing is that horrible stapled carpet block below the amps if you goto the webpage above. Also differnt subs and sub amps are to come over the summer. Hopefully next time I go home for a weekend I will take pics of my car clean. Right now I'm going to school at University of Hartford for EET.

I noticed afterwards that the second like is missing the h in http make sure you type that in to correct the error I made. I know alot of you are looking for cool gauges and don't want to spend a whole lot. Lascar Electronics has many to choose from in the price range of 20-150 dollars. Their webpage is http://www.lascarelectronics.com

Also if you are interested in electronics in general and would like to learn more, this webpage is very informative. http://www.eatel.net/~amptech/elecdisc/caraudio.htm

It has very cool demos which helps the non electronic friendly person understand certain concepts.

Have fun,

Brad

Where do you live about. My gf lives near woodbury. Or are you more east?

I'm from NJ actually when I'm not at school.
