Ever notice the car in front of you having their brake light on more than it should be, could be from left foot riding on brake pedal, so which foot do you use left or right.

i use my right, i had to use my left for a while when i was borrowing a 83 bronco with a high idle on snow....

I never use my left foot for braking. Your suppose to use your right.

I hate people who ride thier brakes.

I only use left foot when cornering in a turbo car at high speed to keep boost up. For everyday driving, Right all the way!

left foot. this makes transitioning to a manual vehicle a bit harder than it should be for the first day or so. just because you use your left foot doesn't mean you ride the brakes.

I did not mean to imply that every left foot braker is riding the pedal however I don't think any right foot brakers are riding it.

I can't even imagine using my left foot for braking. My dad has always braked with his left foot, and his brake pads last forever. I dunno anybody else that drives that way...

for the first 2 years of my driving life, I never drove an automatic, now whenever I put on the brake with my right foot, I find myself "putting the car in neutral" with my left foot (pressing down on the floorboard). I cant help it.

I drove the intrepid quite often with both feet whenever I was either racing or just messing around on the highway because it helps with reaction, you really shouldn't do it, but, there are a lot of things you shouldn't do.

I use my right foot for both in an automatic or manual. A real trick would to be able to use the right foot to actuate the clutch too. :p

I always wondered about those dude's accelerating with the brake lights still on. Either they have a big fat foot like me or there is something wrong with the switch. I usually see this on Explorers and Taurus vehicles. Maybe a Ford thing?

Ok, ok, I admit it....once in a while I'll use my right foot on the brake pedal when I'm on loose gravel in the ambulance. You'd be amazed how much smoke you can get rolling power braking a Ford Powerstroke diesel ambulance. :D

I also use my left but for a different reason. I use it to balance the car going into a turn. I can go into and shoot out of corner faster by staying on the gas and slightly "play" with the brake. This is what the traction control will also do if it sences a slip but the TC will cut the gas. When in a race, I always turn TC off and rely on instinct. It takes a while to get used to. I was taught that technique by a buddy in high school whos dad would always race his old Challenger.

When racing in a car with a manual tranny, I heel-toe the gas and brake while the left is on the clutch. If I will not need to shift, the left is on the brake when needed.

For everyday driving I use my right. By the way, I go through rotors and pads very quickly in the summer when I tend to get a little aggressive:D

01_RT - same thing here. Whenever I race or drive fast, always left foot brake, you can control the arc of the turn you're going into and keep the speed up. This is especially usefull if we're autocorssing or rallying (especially rallying), left foot braking is a must to maintain control of powerslides in loose conditions while going fast.

I do it in the trep when i'm driving really aggressivly. Takes a lot of practice to unlearn what you're been taugh (right foot only), but once you get it down, it can help you out so much

For regular driving though, right foot for braking.
