The ESX 3 is probably close to what the Intrepid would have looked like if they made a third gen. At least that's what I'm assuming seeing as how Chrysler has some kind of boxy-styling addiction ever since the demise of the LH's

I gotta say I still stare at the Treps and all the 2nd gens and think how they still look great among all the new cars. The 1st gens don't look dated either.
The ideal 3rd gen for me would have been the 1999 Charger. It was basically a Trep with different panels. The roof is unmodified Trep. concept.

Seems now since the Intrepid is gone, other cars are starting to look like the Intrepid....in side profile anyways. Check out the Buick Lucerne (where does GM come up with these names??!!) http://www.buick.com/lucerne/index.jsp Looks like the Intrepid from the side only more squared off at the front and back. And how about the new Honda Civics? Again, the raked windshield and curved roof....

Yeah you're right. It doesn't suprise me that GM is going in the direction Chrysler was previously headed like the GM T Cruiser, after all Bob Lutz is there.
